What is the difference between tracks and stems?
Tracks are the individual multitrack recordings of instruments.
Stems are subgroup mixes.
A subgroup mix of your drums would be an example of stems.
Most mixing engineers will want you to submit individual tracks for each instrument so they can have greater flexability to adjust the audio of each instrument as needed.
When you export your tracks for mixing they should run from zero to a few seconds past the end of the song. All of your exported tracks should be the same time length, file size, bit depth and resolution when completed.
